Can #ShoutYourAbortion Turn Hashtag Activism Into a Movement?

Hashtag campaigns are often short-lived, receding when the events that inspire them fall out of the headlines.  #BringBackOurGirls,  #YesAllWomen and #JeSuisCharlie proved similarly tied to the news cycle. But while #ShoutYourAbortion was inspired by current events, Bonow believed that the campaign could continue beyond the life span of a typical hashtag.
Jen Schradie, a sociologist affiliated with the Toulouse School of Economics, has studied digital activism and is giving her insight on this question.
