J.P. Morgan's "Data for Good" hackathon 2023
Two of our students, Louis Rodriguez and Anaïs Boughanem, from the 'Data Science for Social Sciences' Master's program, won the top two places at the recent J.P. Morgan 'Data for Good' hackathon. The hackathon took place on the 20th of October at JP Morgan's offices on Place Vendôme in Paris. Their victory underlines the excellence of their training and the growing impact of data science in solving social problems.
During the competition, the teams were tasked with solving real problems and responding to the needs of an association, Sport in the City. Using databases that were provided, they had ten hours to develop innovative solutions and relevant data models to help the charity better understand trends in the timing of donations each year, donor loyalty, and support over time. Their achievement is a testament to their commitment to innovation and collaboration, highlighting the potential of TSE's bright young minds.
To accomplish this task they were accompanied by three other students from various schools (HEC, Polytechnique,...) as well as volunteers who were there to help them by sharing their knowledge and experience.
We are very proud that their teams managed to take first and second place in this competition!
