Ana Fatima Massé (find attached CV, Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO), will give the next Business Talk about environmental economics: « polluted air hurts both your health and your budget ! ».
Here is the abstract of her talk: Air pollution not only affects people’s health, but also their economy. Nevertheless, information regarding this problem is very scarce and difficult to assimilate. To overcome this barrier, the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO) designed a tool that estimates health expenses and productivity losses associated to air pollution in the largest cities of Mexico. The tool is unique given the breakdown of the results, which includes the largest sample of its kind. This project is part of a larger coalition of organizations advocating for better policies capable of achieving cleaner air in the country.
