The registration deadline has expired.

The next Business Talk of the semester will take place tomorrow Thursday 6th February at  5 pm  in the Amphi MB2 and will be on " Tribulations of an economist in the legal world ".

We are delighted that we will be welcoming Jérôme PHILIPPE who heads the Antitrust, Competition and Trade group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Paris. You can find his CV for futher information : http://www.freshfields.com/profiles/Jérôme_Philippe/

Jérôme trained as an economist but practices as a lawyer in the field of competition law. Based on his experience on both sides, he will show examples on how difficult it may be to try and obtain that concepts frequently used by economists be properly perceived and used by courts. He will focus on two simple economic concepts (two-sided markets ; vertical restraints and differentiation) and related legal cases : card payments systems’ multilateral interchange fees (Visa, Mastercard, Cartes Bancaires) and online distribution of medicines and dermo-cosmetic products (Pierre Fabre). Those two cases will emphasize the role of economists in legal cases, law firms and courts.
