7:00 PM – Conference by Alexander Guembel :
"Payment systems have undergone massive changes over the last few years, driven by technological innovation and new private initiatives ranging from cryptocurrencies to payments embedded in digital platforms. Central banks and governments have responded with initiatives including Central Bank Digital Currencies and Fast Payment Systems. But what, if anything, is the underlying economic problem that public policy should address? This talk aims to build on basic economics to put some structure on how we should think about the respective roles of banks, private payment providers and the public sector in the emerging digital payments landscape."
8:00 PM – Cocktail reception
10:00 PM – End of the event
