Summary

I am a Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) trained applied microeconomic theorist, based at the University of Auckland, where I hold a tenured position in the Department of Economics and am a member of the Centre for Mathematical Social Science (CMSS). Previous academic positions include Massey University (Albany), Keele University (UK), UNSW (Australia), the University of the Basque Country (Spain), and the University of Mannheim (Germany). I am a Co-Founder and Member of the Executive Board of the Asia-Pacific Industrial Organisation Society (APIOS).

I was awarded Marsden Grants (2x), and successfully attracted various other contestable research fundings over the years. I am very active in organising research events, supervising research students and collaborating with various co-authors from the region, and beyond.

My research interests are in the fields of Economic Theory & Design, Innovation Theory, Decision Theory, Information Economics, Industrial Economics, Network Industries, Competition Law & Policy, and Public & Institutional Economics. My publications are featured in refereed-international-top-journals in economics and related fields (e.g., Journal of Industrial Economics, Economic Theory, Journal of Public Economic Theory, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, Theory and Decision, and Journal of Economic Psychology).

I have experience with teaching courses in industrial economics, microeconomics, mathematical economics, law and economics, corporate finance, managerial economics, and public economics both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Among other roles I currently serve as an ethics member of the University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee B (UAHPEC-B).

Since Dec 2021, I joined the Comites NZ as one of its 12 newly elected members. Comites are elected bodies, representing Italians abroad in dealing with Embassies and Consulates and facilitating settlement of Italians in a new country. Comites also promote the needs and interests of Italians abroad, by enhancing the Italian activities in the country where they operate, promoting the Italian culture and language, as well as preserving the historical memory of the Italian emigration.
